This is a failed attempt at a cover draft for issue #3. Sometimes we go through many versions before we decide on a single one. It was fun to have so many inspirational images from Erin to work with for this issue.

Thanks to our contributors and readers who have taken the time to post on their blogs and email about the issue. Its always great to get feedback and even more so when the feedback is positive and enthusiastic. It is this kind of support that really helps us get through the trying times!

Joleen and I are working on issue #4. We always begin with some planning and delegating and trying to find content. As always, we encourage YOU to send in your artwork for our gallery pages and we would love to hear who you would like to see featured in our pages. Issue #4 is fiber themed so we are looking for fabric artists, spinners, weavers, knitters, felters are others who are inspired by and create with fibers and fabric. If you have some artwork you would like considered for publication, please review our submission guidelines and send it on in. If you have questions or comments, please feel free to email us any time at submissions@portals-zine.com.

Cheers!
Heather

Advertisers... don't miss this!!

We're baaack...
I posted about our blogger woes in my personal blog recently, and thanks once again to Hope we are back up over here at Portals. We've done a slight site redesign to accomodate THIS pernickety blog page where we will keep you all updated on the latest in Portals goings on.

Currently we are shipping issue #3. Orders continue to roll in and we have plenty. I just got the irst batch of reprinted issues 1 & 2 from the printer and I bound them this evening. As soon as I am done here I will be adding them to the Buy It page so you may order these back issues.

Please note that the back issues of 1 & 2 are printed completely on text weight stock, no heavy covers but they are spiral bound as opposed to the stapling we were considering.

Unfortunately, due to the size our Zine has grown and ever increasing postage rates, we have been forced to raise our International prices by $2, however subscibers can save $2 an issue by subscribing for one year!

Additionally, not only are we working on issue #4, the Fibers Issue (send submissions!!) but we have gotten the go ahead to pursue our special project.. a mini Zine for ArtFest 2007!! Not only will this mini zine go to each ArtFest participant but we will also be offering up a handful for sale here for those who cannot attend ArtFest this next year. Keep your eyes peeled for more details as we hammer them out!!

Cheers and thanks for all of your support and patience!
